Flow assurance and operability issues play an important role in the operation of both shallow and deep water production and transport facilities. The HyDrill cleaning tool will operate remotely over any distance or depth, removing paraffin and other debris without umbilical connection.
Severe weather causes damage and failure to production platforms in the U.S. gulf. Some 110 collapsed structures must currently be removed. Traditional methods are dangerous and time consuming. The HyDrill method will drastically reduce removal time while enhancing personnel safety.
Currently, underwater inspection of bridge sub-structures is performed by feel. Divers typically inspect a one square foot area on 10 percent of a structures submerged foundational supports. HyDrill’s tool will permit clear visual inspection capabilities regardless of turbidity levels.
HyDrill will begin initial development of a remote tool designed to apply polymer-based coating & reinforcement wraps used to extend the life of submerged pier and pile structures. Completion times will be shortened, and project costs reduced.
