Mixer Hatch Inspection

Inspection Hatches:

High pressure water will access areas chisels and needle guns cannot. Often inspection hatch seals are damaged as a result. Replacement seals, caulking, or other materials used to reseal hatches should be specified. Hatches can also be left open to allow inspection of the drum. Common clear silicone will be used to re-seal hatches unless otherwise specified by the facility manager.

Damage to Nuts, Bolts, and Hardware:

Broken hatch bolts which occur during removal are most often the result of concrete adhesion to threads. Thin drums resulting from abrasion/steel section loss and or heavy accumulations of buildup directly over hatches may cause hatch nuts to separate from the surrounding steel. Remediation of these occurrences are not typically performed by HyDrill. Such occurrences will be noted and left for maintenance personnel to correct.
